Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 To continue my fine tradition of optimizing MS's latest OS, I have here my findings to date. Also make sure you download the correct version of Windows 7 for your needs - to find out which edition (Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate) and type (32-bit or 64-bit) you need, click Start, right-click Computer and select Properties. Typically, the license will limit the key to a fixed number of installations which must only be within the licensee's organization and also place the licensee under an obligation to keep a record of the number of installations, keep the key confidential and possibly even require that the licensee organization makes itself available for a software licensing audit to verify that its use of the key is within the terms of the license.Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 A clean install (labelled "Custom" in the installer), where all settings including but not limited to user accounts, applications, user settings, music, photos, and programs are erased entirely and the current operating system is erased and replaced with Windows 7. This option is always available and is required for versions earlier and up to Windows XP. Put your setting to Manual” or the listing under Safe.” Manual allows Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to start the service when it needs to (or when ever it feels like it), but not at boot up. Depending on your configuration, not all services will start when required while in Manual” mode. Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 This configuration is a system that is still able to perform many LAN networking functions, such as file and print sharing, HomeGroup access and uses wireless networking (laptop) plus leaves several security related features” like the Windows Defender , Windows Firewall and Windows Update active. Rather than popping up with a message in the lower right of your screen, if Windows 7 needs your attention, you'll see an Action Center icon and can find out more by clicking it. If you don't have time to look at the alert immediately, Action Center will keep the information waiting for you to address later. With a streamlined user interface and support for new content types and digital TV, Windows Media Center in certain editions of Windows 7 makes watching TV, movies, and other video content on your PC easier than ever. So, when you set up a home group or media streaming from Windows Media Player, you can enjoy your music, pictures, and videos easily on other computers running Windows 7 and other devices in your home.Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 With Windows 7, you don't have to. Just open Windows Media Player, right-click on what you'd like to hear, select Play To, and you'll see a list of devices and PCs on which you can play your music, like your network-connected stereo or Xbox 360. You can use Windows Media Player on your laptop to listen to music, and view pictures, videos, or recorded TV, in the media libraries on your home PC. No need to take all your photos with you: so when you're at the family reunion, you can tap into your home PC and share photos with the whole gang. In extended support,” Microsoft continues to provide the critical security patches which have been supplied since Window 7's introduction, but Microsoft will no longer make any new developments to Windows 7. There won't be any new features coming for the operating system. In addition, to all those pundits out there headlining the death of Windows 7, it's even true that PC's for businesses with Windows 7 Professional installed will continue to be available for quite some time, likely at least until Windows 10 has been publicly available for a while. With Windows 10, still many months away, and Windows 8.x being an unsatisfactory operating system, in my opinion, there is no reason for photographers and other Windows 7 users to consider moving to Windows 8.x to gain longevity, as most likely, by the time Windows 7 support actually ends, most users will have already moved to another computer and operating system. When purchasing a computer today with Windows 7, one must keep in mind that in January, 2020, Windows 7 support will end, but, at this point, five years is an awfully long time in the world of computers. At PDC 2008, Microsoft demonstrated Windows 7 with its reworked taskbar 29 On December 27, 2008, the Windows 7 Beta was leaked onto the Internet via BitTorrent 30 According to a performance test by ZDNet , 31 Windows 7 Beta beat both Windows XP and Vista in several key areas; including boot and shutdown time and working with files, such as loading documents. Other areas did not beat XP; including PC Pro benchmarks for typical office activities and video editing, which remain identical to Vista and slower than XP. 32 On January 7, 2009, the x64 version of the Windows 7 Beta (build 7000) was leaked onto the web, with some torrents being infected with a trojan 33 34 At CES 2009, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced the Windows 7 Beta, build 7000, had been made available for download to MSDN and TechNet subscribers in the format of an ISO image. Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 No version of Windows is ever perfect, but Windows 7 really is the best release of Windows yet." 123 The New York Times , 124 USA Today , 125 The Wall Street Journal , 126 and The Telegraph 127 also gave Windows 7 favorable reviews. I downloaded this: "MicrosoftNET Framework 4.5.2 (Offline Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2" from here: -us/download/?id=42642 and all my problems went away. The original poster is in all likelihood asking about 3 bit OS to 64 bit OS conversion, which he/she certainly can. As for the windows 8 links, Microsoft is not providing windows 8 and windows 8.1 ISO images for download to the public. The only way to download window 8 ISO images is by using an original product key. But anyways, if you can put 64-Bit it is highly recomended to be used instead of 32. With 64-Bit you get more out of your PC. The label says Windows 7 Home Prem OA (not sure what the OA stands for), so I downloaded Win 7 Home Premium x64 and installed it, but the product key didn't work. There are a variety of scenarios that require one to use the Phone Activation method to get their key to activate properly. My old Asus laptops activation key was able to successfully active the OS. Not much, these ISO files are pretty much the same ones but they are available trough different channels. You can check out the Microsoft forums, most Moderators over there provide windows 7 links hosted on digitalriver. Rest assured you will have to download very few updates after you install windows 7 from these ISO's. However, you need to purchase a license key to activate Windows 7 after using it for 30 days. Was unable to activate an OEM license key for Home Premium x64 on a new dell workstation using the product key on the sticker, and the ISO provided by digital river.
